LaFlamme was born to David and Kathleen LaFlamme in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Lisa La Flamme had her early schooling at that city’s St. Mary’s high school. She spent eighteen months in France following high school before enrolling at The University of Ottawa.

LaFlamme began her career in 1988 as a replica writer and script assistant at CTV’s Kitchener affiliate CKCO. In 1997, she transitioned to become an anchor. Between 2001 and 2003, he worked as a co-host on Canada AM, as a parliamentary reporter, and on CTV NEWSNET, now CTV News Channel.

LaFlamme removed the images from Twitter. She may choose to keep her personal life out of the public eye. LaFlamme has been nominated for five Gemini awards in Best News Anchor, several additional RTDNA awards, and a 1999 Galaxi Award from the Canadian Cable Television Association. In March 2014, LaFlamme received a Canadian Awning Award for ‘Best National Newscast’ and ‘Best News Anchor’ for her work with CTV National News. In 2016, she was appointed an affiliate of the Order of Ontario. Lisa was appointed a Candidate for the Order of Canada in 2019.
